Cookies and Browser Storage Notice

Overview

Chester Referees' Association uses essential cookies and browser storage to run and secure the website and members portal. Optional Nexus Shift analytics only runs if you choose Accept on the banner.

Essential storage

The members portal uses secure authentication cookies and related storage to sign members in, protect portal pages and keep accounts secure. This is necessary for the portal to work and is not affected if you choose Reject.

We also store your cookie choice in first-party local storage under chester_ra_cookie_preference. It records whether analytics was accepted or rejected, when you chose, and the version of this notice. We remember a valid choice for up to 12 months.

Optional Nexus Shift analytics

If you choose Accept, the website starts Nexus Shift analytics. It stores an anonymous visitor ID in local storage (nexus_shift_analytics_visitor_id) and an anonymous session ID in session storage (nexus_shift_analytics_session_id).

Nexus Shift receives privacy-minimised page paths without query strings, referrer paths without query strings, device and browser type, and page-performance information such as Core Web Vitals. It does not receive form contents, names or email addresses through this tracker.

Analytics is optional. It does not start, create those identifiers or send page-view or performance information unless you accept it.

Your choice

The banner lets you Accept, Reject or view this notice. You can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the website footer. If you switch from Accept to Reject, the website stops future analytics collection and removes the analytics visitor and session identifiers where your browser allows it.

If you clear browser storage, use another browser or device, your preference expires after 12 months, or this notice changes materially, the banner will appear again.
